VOLUSIA COUNTY SCHOOLS
Volusia County Schools serves over 61,400 students and employs over 7,600 faculty and staff. The district is the state's fourteenth largest school district and one of the largest employers in Volusia County. More than half of the district's employees are skilled teachers, all of whom are state-certified. Approximately 47 percent of instructional staff hold advanced degrees, including master's degrees, educational specialist degrees or doctoral degrees.

CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS – VOLUSIA COUNTY SCHOOLS
CTE Programs and Career Academies offer career pathways from high school to post-secondary education including dual-enrollment and articulated credit as well as over 45 industry certification credentials. Key components of CTE Programs and Career Academies are work-based learning (internships, pre-apprenticeships, on-the-job training, job-shadowing, and career planning), participatory learning, school-based businesses, and Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs). Through CTE Programs and Career Academy courses, students gain pathway-specific technical, academic, and employability skills necessary for success in the workplace, continued education, and lifelong learning.

VOLUNTEERS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS – VOLUSIA COUNTY SCHOOLS
The Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) program has served the school district since 1978. VIPS involves all segments of the community and all age groups who help meet the needs of students through the enhancement of education. Volunteers work in every aspect of school operations. They assist in the classroom, school office, clinic and special areas; provide one-on-one tutoring and mentor at-risk students; and work with PTA/PTSA, School Advisory Councils, Extended Day, academic enhancement programs, and extracurricular organizations.

Daytona State College offers a Dual Enrollment program that can help high school students get a head start on their college education no matter where they choose to pursue collage after graduation. ERAU - GAETZ AEROSPACE INSTITUTE – ATLANTIC HIGH SCHOOL
It offers genuine Embry‑Riddle courses, so the coursework is more demanding than the high school curriculum. Students will be college-ready by receiving the right college readiness tools, programs, and services. As a result, concurrent enrolled graduates tend to be more adaptable, self-motivated, reflective, and innovative. In other words, they are college-ready.

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT
Junior Achievement’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed. The inspiration piece comes from community volunteers who not only deliver lessons but share their experiences. Preparation involves our proven lessons that promote financial capability, work and career readiness, and business ownership. Research has also shown that JA Alumni are more likely to have a college degree, feel confident managing money, have career success, and have started a business as an adult. In Volusia County the focus is on 1st, 2nd and 8th grade.
VMA K-12 GRANTS
In is the intend of the VMA to provide seed money for manufacturing related program equipment and limited consumables in the initial request for k-12 public and private schools. Consumables will not be funded after the initial request. Grants are limited to 41500 or less. Grant requests are accepted by September 15th and February 15th annually.
