Port Orange has the strongest housing market in all of eastern Volusia County. The majority of homes in the city are less than twenty-five years old and there is great variety for all pocketbooks and lifestyles, from modest dwellings in safe neighborhoods to custom executive homes within gated communities. Apartments, duplexes, condominiums and townhouses are also available.

South Daytona offers something for everyone's tastes in the way of residences. It is a stable community of both older and newer single-family homes. There are also several manufactured home communities, apartment complexes, condominiums, and duplexes within the city limits.

Real estate in the area is quite varied. The median price of a single family 3 bdrm/2 bath home, on the mainland is $224,000. A home on the ocean could range from $300,000 to several million. Beachfront condo's range from $350,000 and up. A 2 bdrm/2 bath Townhouse can be purchased for as low as $130,000. Riverfront, lakefront and canal front properties are available, as well as golf club communities, secured communities and a fly-in community.
