You must register your vehicle before you apply for a Florida Driver's License. You only have 10 days to register your vehicle after you enroll your children in school, get a job, register to vote or file for the Homestead Exemption. Registration, tag, decal and title transfer costs approximately $185.00, and you will need to show a driver's license and proof of automobile insurance. You will need to bring your current driver's license, car registration, Social Security card, birth certificate or passport to the Driver's License office to be issued a Florida license. Those with a valid license from another state, need only take a vision test. The cost is $20 for six years. License renewal is $15 and replacement cost is $10.
